Our 2024 Wedding Season is right around the corner. We are so excited to see a couple new trends throughout this year. Hopefully, they will last into 2025, because they are that good! Some trends from last year that are continuing into this season are bold pearls and statement bows. Both are being used as an elegant and bold bridal accessory added to veils or gloves. But also on shoes, purses, and hair accessories for all the wedding festivities and honeymoon attire. We also see the color dusty blue but as a secondary color paired with peach and blush tones. New trends in 2024 are Elegant Garden Vibes, Candle Prominent Designs, Dramatic Floral Accents, and Colorful Color Palettes.
Elegant Garden Vibes
Flowers and shades of green have always been around when dreaming and planning for a wedding, but this year, green is the main color instead of an afterthought. We are seeing green linens and wispy vines making a statement with soft floral arrangements and candles. Pairing the color green with soft pastel florals in an airy arrangement with touches of clear glass and wicker makes the guests feel like they have been transported into your personal secret garden. This vibe will also have bridesmaids in floral dresses and the groomsmen in a light gray or khaki suit. My favorite design statement to add when creating a garden aesthetic is a floral arch placed at the entrance that every guest walks through as they enter the reception space.
Candle Prominent Designs
Some couples are not into flowers or feel like they are wasting money. I talk about this in a different blog titled “Are Flowers a Waste of Money?”(Link to other blog). But for those couples, there is always the option to do candles as a centerpiece. In 2024, we are going to see more candle heavy centerpieces with not just three floating candles in vases, but 8-10 vases on one table. Some will be paired with heavy greenery, others will let the candles make the statement. To make the biggest statement, I love mixing different sizes and textures of vases with varying candle types. In the end, you have a centerpiece design with pillar candles, floating candles, and candlesticks mixed with greens. Keep in mind that we suggest having two different centerpiece designs to add diversity and make your reception space be intriguing for the guests.
Dramatic Floral Accents
Drama isn’t always bad when it comes to weddings. A dramatic piece can make a large impact to your overall space. A simple but dramatic floral trick is the turning out of rose petals. It turns a soft and delicate rose into a bold flower that can stand alone. This technique can be used throughout the entire floral design and installation to add drama and continuity. We are also seeing more Cake Gardens with floral designs around the base of the cake and grounded floral arches for the ceremony. Grounded floral arches embrace the natural beauty of your outdoor ceremony without taking away the desire to make the space unique to your wedding. Flowers are always a great way to add color and texture to any space. This trend started in 2024, with flower gardens in front of sweetheart tables and welcome signs. We love seeing it bloom into what it is today.
Colorful Color Palettes
This trend started last year, but continues to grow in popularity. Colorful Color Palettes are in. We love this! For the last couple years, weddings have had a simple but yet elegant design with white, black, and green designs. Now, I still love the classic elegant look, but color sparks a different emotion with the guests. We notice that colorful flowers create an atmosphere of fun and joy. There is such a thing as too much color and too much pattern. The best way to add colorful flowers is to pair it with a light neutral base like gray, ivory, or slate blue. These neutrals help tame the vibrant colors, allowing the centerpieces to pop without overwhelming the senses.
Between designs focused on garden vibes, dramatic florals, and colorful palettes, there is a renewed sense of fun and lightheartedness reemerging into weddings. While candle prominent designs add romance and warmth. Whatever your style is, there is a design perfect for you. If you decide to follow the trends or go against the grain, your wedding will be beautiful because it is your wedding. And it tells your story. Sharing your love story with the people who support you is the number one most important aspect of your wedding aside from actually getting married and starting a marriage. Your florist and Planner are here to help make your vision come to life so trust us with your design, but also pick colors, flowers, and styles that match you.
